Standard Products at IMM Singapore: Prices, Products and What I Bought
A practical look at Standard Products at IMM Singapore, including a Japan-Singapore price comparison for homeware, tableware and stationery, and what I chose to buy.
Standard Products at IMM is a useful stop for shoppers who like simple Japanese homeware, tableware, storage, bags and stationery.
The Singapore store felt very familiar to me because I had seen many of the same types of products in Japan. The selection was fun to browse, although the Singapore prices felt noticeably higher when I compared them with the Japanese prices I already knew.
I ended up buying one item I actually needed: a small insulated bag for my child’s school snack.

Japan and Singapore Prices

Standard Products has a clean, simple retail style with wood-toned displays and a broad range of everyday goods.

One of the most useful things for price comparison was the chart inside the store. It showed Japanese yen price tiers together with the corresponding Singapore dollar prices.
Because I was already familiar with some of the prices in Japan, several products felt considerably more expensive in Singapore. The difference varies by item, so it is worth checking the price before buying rather than assuming every product has the same markup.
The Small Insulated Bag I Bought

The small insulated bag was one item I decided to buy. Its Japanese price tier was ¥600, while the Singapore price was S$10.68.
I needed a compact bag for packing my child’s morning snack for school, so the size was practical enough to justify buying it locally.
Bags and Rain Boots

The black rain boots were one of the products I liked most. At ¥1,000 in Japan, I would have bought them immediately. At S$17.22 in Singapore, I decided to leave them behind.
Japanese Lifestyle Products and Store Selection

Tableware and Stationery

The store is not limited to household storage. There is enough tableware, glassware and stationery to spend quite a while browsing, especially if you already like Japanese lifestyle stores.
Outdoor Play Items and One More Price Comparison

I also considered buying the catch ball set to use with my child, but because I knew its Japanese pricing, I decided not to buy it in Singapore.

The single-touch alcohol dispenser was another easy price comparison: the Japanese price was ¥200, while the Singapore price was S$4.14.
Is Standard Products at IMM Worth Visiting?
For me, the best part was simply finding Standard Products in Singapore. Browsing the store felt a little like being back in Japan, and the range of products was large enough to make the visit enjoyable.
If you already know the Japanese prices, you may want to compare carefully before buying. I bought only the small insulated bag because I needed it immediately, while products such as the ¥1,000 rain boots went back on the shelf.
For visitors who enjoy Japanese homeware and lifestyle shops, Standard Products at IMM is still an interesting place to browse while shopping in Jurong East.
